Student Funding Group LLC ("StuFund") is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of information that you choose to provide to us. While it is impossible to guarantee that the information is or will be entirely safe from unauthorized access or use, the following policy is intended to inform you of the steps we take to protect the information you choose to provide to us, and the steps you can take to help protect the security of that information. We recommend that you carefully review this policy before providing us with any information.
What Information Do We Collect and How Do We Collect It?
Non-Public Personal Information
When you submit a loan application to us on our website, by telephone, through the mail, or by referral that application authorizes us to obtain non-public information about you relating to your loan request. With your consent, which you acknowledge when you provide the information to us, the nonpublic personal information that StuFund collects from you may include your name, address, telephone or cell phone number, social security number, and certain personal financial information such as student loan account balances, payment history, credit history and rating, account usage and similar information relating to your transactions with StuFund or to StuFund's decision to enter into one or more transactions with you.
Once we have received a loan application from you on our website, over the telephone, through the mail or by referral, StuFund also may collect information from your school (or schools) to confirm your enrollment status and eligibility for student loans; national consumer credit reporting agencies to obtain reports on your credit history; and StuFund or our affiliates to obtain transaction information, such as your loan balance, repayment history and any other parties involved in your transactions, such as a cosigner.
The nonpublic personal information we collect is used to facilitate the performance of our services. Your decision to pursue a transaction with StuFund is the reason we need to obtain such information.
Non-Personal Information
StuFund, like many organizations, may collect anonymous information about the visitors to their websites through use of technologies such as "cookies", "spotlight tags" and "web beacons." In using these technologies, we may collect your Internet Protocol (IP) address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our Web site, and to perform statistical analyses that are used internally to measure interest in various areas of our site and to help determine the usefulness of various products and services. We also may share aggregate statistical information about the use of the Web site, and may collect and analyze your browser type and version, operating system and platform, and the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to and from our Web site (including date and time). The information collected by the use of these technologies is anonymous and is not linked with the nonpublic personal information you provide to StuFund.
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. StuFund does not use cookies to link to any nonpublic personal information you may provide to us. Instead, StuFund may employ "session-id" or "persistent" cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. Session-ids expire when you close your browser window, while "persistent cookies" remain on your hard drive for an extended period of time. Use of cookies enables StuFund to offer more personalized content relevant to your product needs and inquiries. You may set your browser to reject cookies. This will not materially affect your ability to navigate our site.
Children
StuFund does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years old through its web site. However, if the parent or guardian of a child under 13 believes that the child has provided us with information, the parent or guardian of that child should contact us if they want this information deleted from our files. If StuFund obtains knowledge that it has information about a child under 13 in retrievable form in its files, we will delete that information from our existing files. In addition, anyone under 18 years old should seek their parent's or guardian's permission prior to using or disclosing any information on this site.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
The security of the information you provide to StuFund is important to us and we employ commercially reasonable mechanisms to collect your information. Although precautions are taken to ensure the integrity of your information, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be entirely secure. Therefore, StuFund cannot and does not warrant that your information will be absolutely secure. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of passwords and other private information. Any transmission of data on or through the use of the StuFund site is at your own risk.
